Joining of Govt. Employee into students union

Can a state government employee (Assam) hold a post in a student association and actively take part in various agitations, meetings, submission of memorandum, etc. orgainsed by the student association?
According to service law there is no provision that a person will not active any organisation for their service, but it is illegal that if a person fully active in a student organization. Student organization is a organization which is relates only for students. And it is the duty of the member of the student organization to leave his post after who will be doing a government job.

yes he or she can hold post of office bearer etc. in the union there is no bar unless the union/association has been declared an unlawful association or its objectives declared as illegal or contrary to any statutory law of the land...
