Employer reduced salary & work time during maternity without consent

09-May-2023 (In Labour & Service Law)
I am working for a company and I joined in October 2017. I confirmed to my HR in the month of March that I am expecting. She is based out of Canada. Each time in our touch base calls she would ask about my health and I would tell her that everything is fine except for the usual morning sickness, but I never mentioned that I wanted a flexible option to work nor did I give in written asking for the same. However my new HR got back to me with flexible work options and said that I could work for 5 hours a day and she put the same in a email, however I had clearly told her that I would like to discuss with my family and then respond, but she was in a hurry to close this and she made me respond to the email accepting the option given. And she made the email look like I had requested it. So when I asked her about the salary, she said I would be given only 50% of my CTC, and i felt it was wrong. They are cutting my salary and am not sure if I would be given full pay during maternity.

If it is an IT company then please complain to Employees Redressal Forum which every IT company has to form for hear the grievance of the employees as per law. Complain it there let inquiry to held and fair report to pass. If not you can send them the legal notice for the injustice caused by them to you. You are eligible for the maternity leave and full salary as per the law which they can't deny.
