04-Sep-2023 (In Labour & Service Law)
Greetings, I had a query regarding my case. I had filed writ petition related to service in High Court. My case is connected to a another case of same nature and both cases are under a single lawyer. I want to change my lawyer now. So it is possible to change my lawyer as my case is connected with other or Not. I heard that i can't disconnect the connected case by changing the lawyer Please do reply Thanks

If you have two or more connecting cases it means that the petitions are of similar nature or interlinked So these will be listed along with but on the date of hearing they will be heard one by one.as regards changing of your counsel you may be allowed only after NOC from previous one

You can change your lawyer at any time of the proceeding and it doesn't matter that your case is connected to other case.

I will advise you that you contact to the other lawyer as you think fit for your case and take power (vakalat mama) of new advocate and on such power take NOC (not objection certificate) of old advocate he is bound to sign and give you NOC to engage a new lawyer, more so you can engage more then one lawyer to your satisfaction there is no limit to engage lawyer and no stage to change your lawyer.

I hope this advice will help you to understand and face the problem.
