Query perused. Your wife cannot claim any right in the self acquired property of your parents. In case she files a complaint regarding dowry harrassment before the CAW than it will be a trouble for you and your parents. Under the DV complaint she can claim maintenance, separate residence and protection order. For further consultancy and legal services you may contact us.

In this regard, I advice you that you need not worry these days courts are protective about such claims of wife wherein she claims the property of their in laws. It is pertinent to state the wife cannot have any claim over the separate property of her in laws provided the same is not her shared household as defined under section 2(s) of PWDV Act. For this you have to work out a strategy to eliminate such claims by your wife. For further clarification, please contact.
