Not mendatory as per law...after marriage name change or surname...so if you do not want so u do not use husband name you can use yoyr name whatever you want...nothing restriction but valid as per highschool certificate if you want to need change then you can apply aas per government procedure so you can change otherwise no need to change your name

Women / Men are free to use any name they want. India is a democracy and what name a person should use is his / her fundamental right. No law / person can take that away. Changing your name / surname post marriage therefore, is a choice. It is customary. Not legally binding.

No it is not mandatory to use your husband's name. However, it is advisable to apply for a marriage certificate thereby legally validating your marriage. It was recently announced that women do not need to change their name on their passports now after marriage.

Mam,
It is not mandatory to change your name or add your husband's sur name ,you can continue using your maiden name in all documents. But just make sure by default no government agency writes your name adding your husband's last name .

Hello
Women / Men are free to use any name they want. India is a democratic country and what name a person should use is his / her fundamental right. No law / person can take that away. Changing your name / surname post marriage therefore, is a personal choice. It is customary. Not legally binding.

If you choose to change your name / surname post marriage, you have to make an affidavit and the changed name is published in the official gazette of the state government. Likewise, you have to change all of your documents individually (if you already have them.) Your PAN card, driving license, bank documents, passport, every other government document, individually. to make such changes you will have to give a copy of the gazette / affidavit and marriage registration certificate.
