How to leave with minimal damage?

Ours was a love mrg, 10 yrs total,4+yrs married. Earlier he gave attention, but after marriage, he ws emotionally absent, smoked marijuana day n night, got fired three times. I became emotionally unstable but continued. His mom interfered in sm matters,n he used to get physically violent and harm himself during arguments. I kept my mouth shut. Aftr 3 yrs of marriage, I m in therapy n healing. I’m scared he will harm himself/do drama if I leave. I hv no one to support me. I’m earning well.

Dear Madam,  You have following options: Under Section 12 of the Protection of Women from Domestic Violence Act, 2005, you can file a complaint for: Emotional and psychological abuse Physical violence and threats Economic abuse (if any control over her income is exercised by him) You can seek protection orders, residence orders, and even monetary compensation if needed Divorce Options You may file for divorce under: Cruelty (Section 13(1)(ia), Hindu Marriage Act) due to: Repeated violence Threats of self-harm Substance abuse Interference by in-laws

at your age usually people do not have any one to support them if they done love marriage., and if you are earning at least be happy that you are financially independent. if you do not take any step now fearing that he will harm himself you will lose your chance forever.
