Streedhan, What Is Covered And What Needs To Be Returned

What is covered under streedhan? What can be claimed me as a wife during the process of divorce? What if in the process of mediation my in laws ask to return mangalsutra? Should I return it? And the gold gifted to my husband... can I take it back?

Streedhan includes gold, jewellery, gifts, cash and other valuables given to you before, during or after marriage; you can claim your own belongings during divorce. Don’t return the mangalsutra or gold gifted to your husband without legal advice—ownership depends on who received the gift, and you should clarify everything before agreeing to mediation terms.
