If both the parties husband and wife are ready for the divorce by mutual consent then it takes about 6 months but in a contested divorce it at least 20 month I am able to advise you further after getting more detail about your case

firstly you ask your husband for mutual divorce. if he is denied then you can file a contest divorce on ground of cruelty. surely you get the remedy from Court. but there is a drawback is you not ask for any money on divorce ground. for more information you can call us.

you have not mentioned where he is residing, apart from this do you have his proper address if yes you can proceed with legal procedures, but before adapting any legal procedures you must adapt all legal ways for yourself, you should not say that you have not given dowry to him as it will be nit in your favour, Thanks and Regards Advocate Alok Mahur

Hello, i have seen your query carefully and found that you are intrested to dislove your marriage through divorce. you have said that you are living sepratly since three years and earlier your husband used to abusive language and physical violence. you should file a police complaint first then file a petition for domestic violence, Maintince and divorce. you can file divorce on the grounds of desertion and cruelty
