Emotional cheating - grounds for divorce?

07-Sep-2023 (In Divorce Law)
My husband and I have been having issues (emotional, physical, intimate and financial) since our wedding. It's been 4 years we have been married. Off late, found out that he still is in touch with his ex-partner (kept it secret from me all the while), tries to be in her good books. He still has her nude pictures (from their past) saved, hung on to all the memories and gifts. Does this count as emotional cheating? If yes, can this be one of the valid grounds for separation? If mutual divorce is unlikely, what options do I have?

Dear queriest, as you have mentioned the grounds can be used for divorce since it is a valid ground, secondly if there is no compatibility then you can go for mutual consent divorce which is time saving and also you will be separated legally. for more information in detail kindly contact me.

Whatever details you have narrated in your query , you can certainly file for contested divorce on the ground of cruelty which could be physical, emotional, financial etc if your husband is not ready for mutual consent divorce.

Definitely it will be termed as mental cruelty and this is one of genuine ground to take legal initiative against him. If he is going with this relationship without thinking about family he will has to face consequences under criminal laws and you can move ahead if things are not sort out.
