FIR in any matter need to be filed by the person himself. An advocate can help you by drafting your FIR in any of the particular matter but it will be always filed in the name of the person himself. secondly, if you online FIR still you will receive a call from the concern police station regarding your matter and in writing again they would take the complaint from you.

Dear Sir, My answers to your questions are as follows: 1. FIR is compulsory to initiate any criminal case only.  2. Your Advocate cannot lodge complaint on your behalf but you may execute Power of Attorney authorising him to lodge a complaint.  3. There is no effective online FIR. You have to lodge offline FIR only.  4. You have to get it lodged through your Power of Attorney in the State where the offence was committed or send your complaint to the concerned Police Station or to the Superintendent of Police of that District.

F.I.R filed by your advocate has no value in the eyes of law. Although, if the police does not file your F.I.R, you can move an application in the concerned judicial magistrate. For further clarification, feel free to reach me Thanks
