15 days before marriage date stopped by groom by demanding dowry

I am girl, got engaged with a government employee. 3 months gap is there for the marriage, so his mother brought aligations and made plans to break the marriage, in this process they recorded my father frustrating words regarding her disinterest in marriage.They kept this as an evidence to break the engagement.Before 15 days of marriage groom called my dad and demanded 10 lakhs for grand marriage.My father said he can afford only 3 lakhs, so they called off the marriage. But he used to talk with me but his parents said we are not going to do this marriage.so I recorded the conference of his mother and him by being in conference call.His mother used abbusive words about me.Now how to proceed legally.
