In light of the recent memo from the bank of Pune regarding the bounced check, it is advisable to pursue legal recourse by initiating a case under section 138 of the Negotiable Instruments Act in Pune. This legal action is a necessary step to address the dishonoring of the cheque and to seek appropriate remedies for the financial implications caused by this event. By filing a case under section 138, you are asserting your rights as per the established legal framework and signaling that the matter will be handled through proper channels. It is important to adhere to the legal procedures and timelines associated with this process to ensure a fair resolution and uphold the integrity of financial transactions. Taking proactive steps to address such instances of dishonored checks is crucial for maintaining trust and accountability in financial dealings, both for individuals and businesses alike. Therefore, proceeding with a case under section 138 of the N.I. Act demonstrates your commitment to upholding the law and seeking justice in matters related to financial obligations and transactions. It is essential to engage legal assistance and follow the prescribed procedures meticulously to navigate this legal process effectively and achieve a satisfactory outcome.

The court where the cheque was presented for payment has jurisdiction over the case. So, as you have presented your Cheque in Pune for encashment which got bounced due to insufficiency of funds in the account of the drawer, you will file Cheque Bouncing Case against the Drawer in Pune.

Cheque bounce has specific jurisdiction where you will need to file your case. Firstly the case is filed in that jurisdiction where your actual account (home branch) is situated irrespective of the branch where you got the cheque bounced.
