Hi, drafting of terms of service and privacy policy will cost you anywhere between 25k to 40k. The terms of service and privacy policy are required to be tailor made as per your business requirements and should have all 'bells & whistles' protections for the company and its officials.

There is no specific criteria for the contracts required for startup. Broadly, the issues one must first look into is: incorporation of your entity, tax compliances, banking systems, office management set-up, business regulatory and compliance, business model, branding and intellectual property protection. Things such as drafting privacy policies, terms & conditions, etc. Come much later into the 2nd stage of business, and will depend on nature of business and the extent-scope involved. An e-commerce business will have different privacy policy from metallurgy business. Drafting is a time consuming and an important activity. There is no specific formats or templates and it all depends on what are clients specific needs. Costing for start-ups is always low since the intent is to build a long-term relationship.

To be honest it is extremely difficult to answer without knowing the type and strength of your business (in terms of money and manpower) as to how many and by what volumes you should have contracts for your start up. Even then you need to have -
- your own prospectus, MOA, AOA if your start up is a comapny,
- a partnership contract if your start up is a LLP or partnership firm,
- disclaimer, privacy policies etc. on your website and on your product (if your start up is a manufacturing company)
- employer-employee contract so that you can employ workforce in your start up
- third party contract with all those who will be aiding and assisting you in doing your business
- contract in between you and your investor if they are not on the boards of your company
- if possible then you can also have a contract for equity, shares, debentures etc for any new comer or for any short time entrants in your business

Rest can only detailed out provided we are sitting across the table and I am having all the details of your business entity.

As far as the cost part is concerned then that is something which is extremely personal for a practicing advocate and everyone demands as per his/her capacity and expertise. It would be better if you could sit around with some of the advocates to get quotation of your own choice.
