stridhan is a property gifted to women it is her right but husband also possessed rights in certain conditions only to retain them
There are many grounds to obtain divorce Like cruelty, unsoundness of mind, desertion etc.

(1) You can file petition of divorce jointly with her for getting divorce by mutual consent, but she too will have to be agree for that. Divorce by mutual consent is the shortest way of getting divorce. But, if she does not agree, then you can file petition for divorce on the grounds of cruelty. But proving cruelty to justify divorce will be difficult.

(2) You will have to return all those gifts which were given only to her at the time of marriage. Gifts received by a woman at the time of her marriage, whoever may have given, are Stridhan.
