Migration of NIT Srinagar students

10-Aug-2023 (In Civil Law)
The students of NIT Srinagar are suffering from heavy losses of study. Our college's commencement date is continuously shifting. So we want a lawsuit to ask for temporary or permanent migration to some other institute/institutions. Even if the current conditions in Kashmir settle down which is highly unlikely, we are in constant threat. So we want to take this to Supreme Court of India. Will this be a class action lawsuit? How should we move from here? What will be the fees to hire a lawyer? If this doesn't happen soon our whole semester will be wasted...

Hello
In this Case there is no need to go supreme court. You can also file a mandamus writ in the honourable high Court of Jammu and Kashmir at Jammu bench and get the order to direct the university to shift your classes to some campus in Jammu. But try to include large numbers of student in this petition and show your grievances in court which you are facing in Srinagar because of the current turmoil situation.
Bro sorry but fees cannot be discussed openly , but being student everyone will charge you as less as possible.
Good luck

In Srinagar there is law and order problem . Not only students of NIIT but whole student community is suffering .The stidents can approach the Honble High court through under writ jurisdiction seeking direction against state authorities for commencement of classes. They can even approach sc but better is to first approach Honble High court of jk Srinagar wing instead of approaching hc.
