As the property in question is ancestral in nature thus, she is required to take the valid consent of all the legal heirs of that property. However, If she is a karta of a hindu family then for the sufficing the needs of the family, she can sell the property.

Your mother is the absolute owner to the said property since she got from her mother. Consent of the children is not necessary for the sale of the property. During the life time you children have no right on the said property. It is only if she dies intestate you can inherit the pproperty.According to the provisions. Of Indian. Succession Act 1925 sec 37 it's up to her what she wants to do with it as it is a property is got from her mother.
