Registered sale deed Vs GPA of same land to the different persons

I purchased 1 acre land by sale deed in june 1985 out of that 1 acre land previous owner alredy sold the half( 2500 gaj)of the same land to the some other person's through unregistered GPA in may 1985. Can leagal heir's of the previous owner challenge the sale deed on point that. Sale deed was not legally right becouse the sale deed was of the land where half of the land was alredy sold to some one on gpa then how you done the sale deed of the entire land. We left the Gpa holders share and we have no dispute with each others. The lagal heir's of the jamindar makeing trouble after 35 years.what is our remedies.

In the court of law a registered sale deed is always a better title document than an unregistered GPA. Thus as per the sale deed, you would hold a better title. Further if any other party is claiming the right of the property on the basis of GPA, he has to prove a better title.
