Can i legally break the wall between two of my shops
25-Jul-2023 (In Property Law)
Respected sir, I am a shop owner and i have bought another shop behind my shop. I want to break the inner wall between my both shops but someone told me that the owner of the house who resides above my shops is gonna place an legal objection against it. I need your help in this regard can u please help me find a way so that i can break the inner wall legally and he cannot object. I expect a reply soon. Thank you.
You will need to look at the plans of the building. If the wall is a load bearing wall, then you will not be able to demolish it. However, if the wall is not a load bearing wall, then you should be able to. You will need an architect to inspect the buildings and he will be able to give you a better idea. Legally, if the wall is not a load bearing wall, then you can go ahead and demolish it.

You can legally break the wall, however, you'll have to clear the floor plan of the shop with either DDA or MCD, wherever the shop is situated, under whichever's jurisdiction. As soon as the Floor Plan is cleared, you can legally join the two shops.
