Can housing society object to resale of property

I want to sale my flat. My premises is cooperative housing society I want to know can society take objections on selling my flat. If I have paid all maintenance to the society the is no due of payment towards society. Can society make any hurdles in sales my flat. Is I have to depend on society willingness to sell my flat, is there any rule in cooperative housing society that I cannot seal my flat to person belong to schedule cast. If society protest to sale my flat then I cannot sale my flat. Because in society members says that no owner have right to sale his property without permission of society if society wish then only he sale. Kindly give legal advice.
