Legal Consultation : Dispute Over Rental Agreement Notice Period

19-Mar-2024 (In Landlord/Tenant Law)
I'm facing a legal issue with my landlord regarding the notice period for vacating my apartment in Hyderabad. My rental agreement requires a one-month notice, which I gave on March 15, planning to leave on April 15. However, the landlord insists that notice should have been within the first five days of March for an April departure, a condition not specified in the contract nor communicated prior. This has led to a demand that I stay and pay until May 1, contrary to my understanding and plans. T

Your Question is Very Broad. There are many dots missing in your statement. For instance, how and where did the conversation happen.? (WhatsApp/ in-person) , Payment-Online/Cash. Instead of April 15,he wants you to pay till May1, How much is this 15-16 day amount.? (to know if it is even worth Hiring a lawyer or not)
As you say that there is no such clause that states to notify on first five days. the questions are on which day have you made this agreement and on which day is the rent being paid.. Is the agreement registered.

The list of questions goes on and on because your question is very broad. Unless you provide all the details it will be difficult to guide you.
