Legal Advice on Rent Agreement

19-Dec-2023 (In Landlord/Tenant Law)
I am single parent and I live with my father in his house. I pay rent to my father. Every month I transfer rent to his bank account. My father passed away and I don't have rent agreement executed. Now, I need rent agreement to show to my employer. Please advise can somebody else sign rent agreement on my father's behalf? I have bank statement which shows I transfer rent to him every month.

You can get the rent agreement executed on your name. This situation does not call for any legal recourse till the time your landlord disagrees for the same or ask you to vacate without any reasonable cause. For any further clarification feel free to contact.

Thanks

Hi .!!!
There are a lot of legal implications as you have mentioned that your father has passed away. The first thing that now who all are the legal heirs of your father apart from you, because as a child of your father you are one of legal heir of your father.
I will require a lot more details for answering your query.

If the father owned the property which you rented, who is now inheriting it? You can rent it from the person inheriting the property (such as your mother if she is surviving)

If you have inherited the property then rent arrangement will not work.
