Is CCTV inside Girls PG legal in India?

My Landlord has installed CCTV inside Girls PG. It is not in my room or bathroom but everywhere else including entrance, stairs, kitchen. In some cameras you can also see the door of the room. Is it a legal practice in India?
Who gives the permission to install camera inside private life of a person and what right does he have on all the footage he has of girls walking up and down of stairs?
What can you do if you were not informed at first about the CCTV?
yes in common places installing cctv camera is very much permissible in india but kitchen is a again a private place to which one can object over a letter but not in person or your lawyer can talk to him in your pressence so that you are well secured and he cannot act smart

inside a kitchen it is not permissible because whosoever living in the flat or premises can be in a private manner or by wearing private attires or may be doing personal activities it will be intrusion of privacy for any male or female it should be properly dealt with
