How to recover money paid in advance for renting a property

My wife has recently relocated to Bangalore. She had almost decided on a flat for rent and had transferred the deposit money + a token amount that was told to her will be the confirmation. Now after 3 days because of the landlord's way of communication, we decided to call off the deal. Till now we don't have the key handed over to us also. Do we hold the right to demand full refund ? Regards
Yes, you can demand the amount which has transferred to landlord account when you will not satisfied to take rental flat. If it is the fault of you, you have to compensate a month rent, if it fault of landlord, it can be recalled with interest and damage.
