Non Compete Clause can employee join competition during Garden Leave

Employee has signed non compete clause . Just wanted to know can employee join competition or restrained from exercising a lawful profession or trade or business of any kind during his garden leave . Secondly after completion of his garden leave can he join competition or indulge in same trade or business . Want to have clear idea about Non compete clause . We are already aware that it is unenforceable in India but have doubt how valid it is during garden leave.
This is my response to you:
1. This will depend on the wordings of the appointment letter;
2. This will also depend on the reading of the labour bond or the non-compete clause;
3. You will have to approach a local lawyer and discuss the same with him/her;
