I want to evaluate the legality of the Bond in job

We expect you to stay with us at least 18 months. Only this was written on my offer letter and also they said although there is no bond but on basis of mutual understanding you have to stay. Now i have resigned after 2 months now they are blackmailing for legal actions.
The aforementioned writing does not amount a service Bond,nor you can be coerced by your employer.
You must have some reason to resign.
Stick to your stand and be firm. Still if your past employer continue to threaten file a complaint
