Dear Concern, Please let me clear you that there is no such rule that after completing such an amount of tenure of service the employee will be regularized. On the other hand if it is written in your appointment letter that you will be regularized after some period, then also this will be the employer's discretion. Apart now a days whether a regular employee or contractual employee everybody is same as everybody can lose his/her job for not performing satisfactorily. And nevertheless the welfare benefits are also same! Also firing employee is also not that easy too!
Apart as you have completed your 8 years in that service you are eligible for gratuity even, please concentrate on your job and try to complete your superannuation efficiently and effectively so that you can take the maximum benefit from this job after completion the super-annuity.
