Can an employer withhold salary during maternity leave?

19-Dec-2023 (In Labour & Service Law)
Hello, My company has sent me an e mail confirming that they won't pay me for the last 14 weeks during my maternity leave till I join them back. They have paid my salary for 12 weeks already. Also this non payment was communicated to me recently with no prior notice. Please help and let me know if this is permissible by law.

You are entitled to a 26 week paid Maternity Leave under the Maternity Benefits Act. Your Company will be aware of this, and should not deny you the pay during the 26 week period. I recommend that you take this up internally with your Company, perhaps escalate it to your Head of HR, and your Management to understand why you have been denied pay.

To answer you question, your Company cannot deny Pay for the 26 weeks of your maternity leave.
