IPC Section 366A - Procuration of minor girl

As per new Indian Criminal law, IPC Section 366A has been replaced with BNS Section 96 with effect from July 1, 2024.
(Words “minor girl under the age of eighteen years” are replaced by word “child” and made gender neutral.)

Whoever, by any means whatsoever, induces any minor girl under the age of eighteen years to go from any place or to do any act with intent that such girl may be, or knowing that it is likely that she will be, forced or seduced to illicit intercourse with another person shall be punishable with imprisonment which may extend to ten years, and shall also be liable to fine.



IPC 366A in Simple Words

According to section 366A of the Indian Penal Code, anyone who induces a minor girl under 18 years to go somewhere or do something with the intent or knowledge that she may be forced into illicit intercourse with another person can be punished with up to ten years of imprisonment and a fine.
