IPC 317 in Simple Words
Section 317 of the Indian Penal Code states that anyone who is the parent or caretaker of a child under twelve years and intentionally leaves the child in a place with the intention of completely abandoning them can be punished with imprisonment for up to seven years, or a fine, or both.
