Unaccompanied shipment of used household goods

30-Mar-2023 (In Immigration Law)
A small shipment (about 300 kg) containing some used household furniture has been sent from Doha, Qatar to Bangalore, India. The shipment arrived at Mumbai port and the agent there is asking the shipper to visit Mumbai for customs clearance. Expenses on visit would be more than the shipment value. So, the shipper has asked the agent to request the Customs to dispose of the shipment as per applicable procedures. Do you see any complications in doing that?

Well, without you sharing Order in Original, Detention Memo or Seizure Memo, I cannot legally inform : Whether there are complications in disposing off the shipment of Household Furniture or not ! However, there is no need of asking Shipper to come here, I can clear your goods from Customs.
