He is trying to influence my husband by saying bad about my character I think somehow my husband is influenced by him. IT IS A MIXED QUESTIONS OF FACT AND LAW INVOLVING CIVIL AND CRIMINAL RIGHTS OF THE PARTIES. FIRSTLY, A LEGAL NOTICE IS TO BE ISSUED TO FATHER IN LAW FOR THE RELIEF OTHERWISE WE WILL BE CONSTRAINED TO TAKE CIVIL AND CRIMINAL ACTION, BY TAKING LEGAL ADVICE FROM A LAWYER. LATER, A SUIT CAN BE FILED IN CIVIL COURT FOR RELIEF . EVEN CRIMINAL CASE UNDER DOWRY PROHIBITION ACT AND DOMESTIC VIOLENCE ACT CAN BE FILED.

You can file complaint under Section 3 and 4 of Prohibition of Dowry Act for against your father in law for demanding more dowry. You can also file a case under section 498A of IPC for metal cruelty. You have every right equal to your husband when it comes t father in laws family.

Hi,
Firstly is your husband on your side or on your father-in-law side this has to decided first as to come to a conclusion . You can file a case against your father-in-law for dowry harassment but if your husband is in your favour, as no husband can see if a case is filed against his father.
