Two minors eloped and family is creating problem

02-Apr-2023 (In Family Law)
Hello Can you please advise me on a legal matter? My brother-in-law (minor) has eloped with a girl (minor) and is now living in a different city. However, the girl’s family has filed a case against him and his entire family. The police are tormenting the boy’s family who is very poor. If they get back to their village, they will be beaten and the girl will be forced to marry. It is also possible that they can persuade her to talk against him due to family pressure. We don’t know what to do.

Hello.. Firstly what matters is the age of both boy and girl...If the girl comes back and demands from police that she does not want to live with her family then she will be send to Nari Niketan...but for that a Habaes corpus petition can be filed in the High Court and she can thereafter be allowed to live with the boy of her choice... And in the case of boy, if he is minor he will be send to Juvenile Board in custody and till he be declared that he is minor...his case will go on....Further a Criminal Revision be filed in the High Court for his release...Then he will be released... Overall time would be 6 months approx... For more information you can call/text me... Thank You...
