insults heaped on father in law by daughter in law and her brother

13-May-2023 (In Family Law)
I AM A VERY SENIOR CITIZEN, CROSSED AGE 80 LONG BACK. My daughter in law in B'luru and her brother in Shivmogga have, intentionally, heaped insults of highly hurtful nature, for one month. They have used whatsapp and sms platforms of their phones for this purpose. The insulting messages have hurt me immensely and disturbed my peace of mind. Police complaints have yielded no results. How to assuage my feelings. Can I take any legal action?

Dear Sir, I can understand your feelings. Normally, Police do not act immediately since it is a family problem. You may execute a Power of Attorney and get issue strong legal notice and threaten to initiate civil and criminal defamation cases. Thereafter, you can file civil defamation case claiming huge compensation on the basis of evidence which you have.

you have to file a complaint to the cyber crime police station and you can also file for defamation a also can look into senior citizens provisions, if you have filed a complaint there should be an FIR and investigation and their report, you have to see what action the police have taken and do the needful to see that action is taken against the complaint filed. unless you fully disclose whether a complaint is filed under cyber crime it is difficulty to give an advise when you only state the complaint has yielded no results.
