How husband could safeguard his family after divorce overseas?

07-Dec-2023 (In Family Law)
I currently live in the UK with my wife and 7-year-old daughter. We are all Indian nations. I have filed a divorce in the UK which nearly at the final stage. My wife has severe mental illness currently being treated in the UK. She also currently facing trial in the UK Court for an assault charge. It is highly likely that my in-laws, who live in Kolkata, would try to take to revenge on me misusing Indians laws. This would mean I could get into trouble when I visit India or trouble for my extended family who is in India. Can wife file cases in India after divorce overseas? What advance actions I could take before my in-laws gone too far?

In this regard, i advice you that till the date of divorce decree you will be protected as the events till date would have been adjudicated, wherein court might conclude in your favor to say that she was cruel on you and not otherwise. It is further pertinent to state that any event which is done after the decree of divorce cannot be filed as part of matrimony. Once you attain decree of divorce, thereafter there will be severance of relationship of husband and wife. Therefore, in my opinion take decree of divorce in your favor from the country in which you are currently residing and then only come back to India. In India, laws are pretty strong and at the same time favour women. For further, clarifications, please contact.
