As per your query,

Marriage between brother and sister is void marriage as the both parties are within the degrees of prohibited relationship, and unless the custom or usage governing each of them permits of a marriage between the two, the same is void.

Keeping live in relationship with sister is not only immoral but also illegal.

In India, marriage between brothers and sisters is prohibited and considered illegal. Hindu law, which governs many aspects of family and marriage, explicitly prohibits such marriages. Here are some key points to clarify the prohibition on the marriage of brothers and sisters under Hindu law:
  1. Illegal and Prohibited: Marriages between brothers and sisters are strictly illegal in India. Such unions are considered void and against the principles of Hindu law.
  2. Incestuous Relationship: Marrying a sibling is considered an incestuous relationship, which is not only illegal but also culturally and morally unacceptable in Indian society.
  3. Hindu Mythology: While Hindu mythology may have stories of siblings marrying, it's important to note that these stories are considered myths and not applicable as legal precedents.
  4. Legal Consequences: Engaging in a marriage between brothers and sisters can have severe legal consequences, including the marriage being declared void, potential criminal charges, and social stigma.
  5. Marriage Laws: India has specific laws governing marriage, such as the Hindu Marriage Act, which clearly define who can marry whom, and siblings are not included as eligible partners.
  6. Cultural Norms: Beyond legal considerations, marrying a sibling goes against established cultural norms and societal values in India.
In summary, brother-sister marriages are illegal and prohibited under Hindu law and Indian marriage laws. It's essential to respect and adhere to these legal and cultural norms to avoid legal repercussions and social consequences.
