Can i marry my grandfather's sister's granddaughter
08-May-2023 (In Family Law)
Legally speaking in India (under the Hindu Marriage Act, 1955), marriage is not allowed within the prohibited degrees of relationship or sapinda relationship, unless your local custom specifically permits it.
-
If she's your grandfather's sister's granddaughter, that makes her your second cousin.
-
Likewise, if she's your grandmother's sister's granddaughter, the relation is also that of a second cousin.
Second cousins usually fall outside the prohibited degree under most personal laws, so the marriage is typically legally valid. However, community customs (like gotra rules in Hindu families or clan restrictions) may still apply.

If he's your maternal grandfather then yes, but if paternal then no. Same for her it must be her maternal grandmother and not paternal.
