Sold bike without proper transfer of ownership

29-Jan-2023 (In Documentation Law)
Hi, I sold my bike approx. 10 years back to a person through a local mechanic. I did not do any documentation and handed over the bike and papers in good faith as the person was looking genuine and he assured me that he will get the bike registration transferred after getting the signatures on the required forms. Recently I was contacted by police against a hit and run case where I got to know that my bike was involved in that accident and apparently the registration was not transferred by that person. I somehow have got the matter closed in court and want to safeguard myself from any such activities in future. I don't have any contact details / Name of that person now and the mechanic is also not able to help in that concern. Please advice what should be the content of the FIR so that Police wont bug me. Will be great help. Regards

U should lodge a First information report of theft against unknown persons .This is the best way by which u can save urself .Without transferring of paper selling of bike is quite illegal .So I can say lodging a FIR against unknown for missing ye bike is best way to save urself against miss use of ur bike
