Related to Divorce whether it's only possible if it's mutual or there

02-Mar-2023 (In Divorce Law)
My friend is in relationship with a man who is already married and has to children. She was not knowing about his marriage when they started seeing each other. Afterwards she came to know about his marriage and he told that he wants separation from her wife and already their marriage is going through trouble. However it has been more than 4 years but the divorce matter is going nowhere. Now my friend has asked him to know the status of divorce , so he is telling her that his wife is not giving her divorce and it will only be possible if it's mutual I wanted to know whether there is any possibility of divorce or that person is just cheating my friend.

it is not necessary that a divorce be granted only on mutual consent. there are various provisions in the Hindu Marriage Act which substantiate the different reasons and conditions under which a divorce can be granted. the man is making a fool out of your friend. if there is no divorce case going on then it means that neither the guy nor his wife have applied for bail.
