In this regard, you need to first understand that the filling of divorce will not lead to severance of relationship of husband and wife. Therefore you would be entitled to every privilege he is entitled to as his wife. You need to contest that divorce petition filed by him thereby making an application to the court citing your ordeals. Till the decree has not been passed in favour of him on the grounds as mentioned in the said petition which he has filed. Please tell me on what ground has he sought for dissolution of marriage. if you haven't received any order from the courts here then you are still legally married to him and have all the rights as given under the Indian law. not going out with you and not taking you to parties or other events can be considered to be cruelty

Dear Client,
Firstly how can your husband divorce on whatsapp message, r u Muslim by religion, which you have not mentioned. how ever when you have been married and where , and where from ( country) you belong to, pls. give detail by consulting me by this platform.
However, this may not be possible in india for both Hindu and muslim either.
Also you husband is in IFS service. he can not do it without illegal way. For further detail conversation for legal recourse, you may consult me .

Hi,

My father too was in the diplomatic services, so I can understand the anxiety such situations create when you are not appearing at official functions.

As per your given information :
1) Currently if you have not received any summons from the Court nor any notice fromt he lawyer, you continue to remain as his lawfuil spouse and will continue to retain any official privileges that you enjoyed priorly.

2) The mere receipt of a whatsapp message does not amount to a notice for divorce.

3) You can proceed to file an application for restitution of conjugal rights wherein on account of your spouse deserting you and cutting you off , the Court shall summon him and direct him to resume his duties as your husband

4) You do have a seperate option as well , however I would exercise this with caution on account of your husband's official status and future endevours. You can file an application for Domestic Violence stating the immense mental torture inflicted upon you on account your husband's behaviour. However I would require some further details for this and an extended discussion.
