Is a decree of divorce needed to remarry

I have signed a document called as lagna-vichchhed karaar in front of subregistrgistrar on 22/06/2017. I want to marry another person of my choice and want to go abroad for higher studies as well with spouse. Do I need to get a decree of divorce or the document which I have is sufficient to re-marry again ?

It is necessary for you to get a decree of divorce. Lagna-Vichchhed karaar or Deed of Divorce can only be used to get a decree of divorce from a Family Court.
As the karaar would be signed by your spouse you may easily get a divorce under Section 13B

Signing the document is not enough when specifically you want to go abroad. You have to obtain Divorce Decree from the Court. Except that it will not be valid marriage for both of you. So first obtain the decree of divorce then after register the marriage

The documents you have is sufficient for remarriage with the person of your choice but if you want to go abroad then you have to get the decree from the court so, if you want to go abrod then you must have to get the decree.

You have signed divorce agreement before the subregistrar. it is customary divorce and it is sufficient for remarriage in a custom.
But if you want to go abroad, You have to delete name of your first wife in your documents, In that situation your should get divorce decree from the court.
