Marriage can be ended when one party to the marriage is responsible or liable for the offence under matrimonial offences done against another spouse. Grounds for divorce are desertion, adultery, cruelty, venereal disease, leprosy, insanity, and conversion etc. Desertion is the permanent abandonment of one spouse by the other spouse without any reasonable justification and without her consent.

You have certain legal remedies to avail under the law. For the same you should seek a detailed legal consultation from an Advocate having expertise in the relevant area of matrimonial cases. If the behaviour of your husband is intolerable towards you then you can always apply for divorce under section 13(1)(ia) & (ib). But it’s advisable to go for mutual divorce because it is less money consuming and gets over within maximum six months. For more legal assistance I am just a call away.
