Divorce due to abuse and domestic violence from husband

I am a hindu woman who married 10 months back. My husband has been treated for bipolar disorder post marriage which i did not know before. He used to be abusive and used to hit me. How do i proceed with divorce? Plz guide

If your husband had such a disorder which was diagnosed before marriage and not informed you at the time of taking your consent for marriage then it may amount to your consent being obtained by playing fraud and you may file for nullity of marriage if you have documentary evidence like doctors prescription and other reports of diagnosis and treatment.

in your case you are liable to be file petition section 13 of Hindu Marriage act against your husband in family court and also liable to file compensation against your husband but for divorce petition there are some limitations

firstly gather all medical documents which prove your husband's disease and also gather all all documents which prove income and property of your husband afterword while living husband's house make and police complaint to local police station and after work send him a legal notice for maintenance and then file first maintenance case and then automatically you will get divorce by him to avoid maintenance.
