Divorce and maintence needed if the husband is a uk citizen

My husband is a uk citizen and he married me in india and he never took me along to uk then later he told me he stays in kenya and i went there...he lived with his mom in a v small place absolutely diffrent from what he showed me. So in a state of shock i came india he kept threatning me to come bck ..i filed a divorce case. .i have a smal kid from my previous marrige too so i thght now she will get a father..but he kept threatning me for money he said if im not coming back he will defame me completly .i want divorce i have filed it..summons have been sent .he has recived..but he is not ready to appear or pay any maintence currently staying in kenya but holds a british passport.

Hello, this divorce petition you filed in India is maintainable according to law. He will have to appear and contest the same. Let the Hon'ble Court take its due process. Kindly note down the judgment regarding maintainability of the divorce petition:- 2014(1) RCR Civil Page 697. Since you have already filed the divorce and sent the notice and learned counsel has been engaged, kindly ask him to have a look upon this citation. It will help you.
