Before marriage, my wife's family told us that she is highly educated and has a good habit of reading novels. But post my marriage, I found out that she doesn't like reading at all. Moreover she can not even understand even a single word of English. Her pronunciation is very poor even though she is a post graduate. I have a very strong apprehension that her education is fake. If I file for a divorce, can we convince a judge basis these grounds so that her education can be verified and a copy of her papers can be obtained with a court order... Some lawyers say education doesn't matter much. And some say it can become a reason for an annulment. Please help me what is the best remedy for this?

Pre marital concealment of facts is a common yet strong ground for the obtainment of divorce. Annulment isn't as easy as it sounds. A thorough investigation may be prayed to the Court during the divorce proceedings, however the same is dependent upon the manner of drafting and convincing power of the advocate for the Petitioner. A contested divorce is way different and cumbersome from a mutual divorce and henceforth a critical mind is an absolute necessity for smooth sailing of such proceedings. Further and better particulars are needed for an effective opinion.

Hi,

Education qualification cannot be a reason for annulment of marriage you cannot prove it that your wife had stated that she had good knowledge of English , Moreover pronunciation of English would have been clear before the marriage as as per your statement you had spoken to her.
Yes you can file petition for divorce on the basis of gravity Cruelt .

this is a legitimate reason for getting a decree for annulment of marriage. but you have to proceed immediately to show the court that you took immediate steps since it is a big issue. you can even go for judicial separation on these grounds along with cruelty since it also comes under cheating
