My sister lodged a complaint in CAW against harassment. After several discussions, she asked IO to close the case as she was to give time to her husband to change but in return he filed Divorce and his mother filed DV.nCan my sister reopen the case in CAW and proceed on that? She don't want to repeat the same process. If reopen is not possible then what is other option?

It's better for her to go for the filing of a fresh complaint on fresh grounds with the CAW Cell and request them to register a FIR u/s 498a. And if the police officials fail to register a FIR then approach the court under section 156(3). She can also file a 125 CrPC and claim her monthly maintenance. For more legal assistance I am just a call away.
