u can ask for the status report of the police investigation through application under sec. 156(3) cr.p.c. before the magistrate and can ask the court to take the cognizance of the complaint. but before that u need to exhaust all the remedies available.

The legal cell reviews the complaint and recommends that an FIR be filed at the Police Station concerned. This is when a husband should seek Notice Bail/Anticipatory Bail. It is not mandatory to attend the CAW Cell proceedings, but it is recommended.

What is the function of CAW cell?

If the matter is not resolved amicably between the woman and her husband, the Crime Against Women Cell will send a report of failure to their superiors. The CAW Cell also forwards the complaint of the woman to a Police Station in order for a regular FIR to be registered.
