Legal remedy against stranger harassing on calls

Actually a friend of mine is getting calls from an unlikely number which started a week ago and she’s sick with those calls. So i wanted to ask if there’s any law which could help her. I guess who has her number has given this number of hers to someone else who’s calling her. Is there any law that can help??

First you start recording that conversation as proof of the harrassment. then you may go to women police station/ cyber cell of police and lodge the complaint under indian penal code and IT Act. at the time submit the audio recording of harassment conversation and give the mobile number of the teaser. rest law will act. Thanks

GIVE YOUR COMPLAINT TO THE ZONAL POLICE STATION OR CYBER CELL. NOW POLICE WILL CATCH THAT SUCH PERSON AND TAKE NECESSARY ACTION AGAINST HIM.

The first step that you should take is to register a " Jannva Jog" with the police. It is a remedy that can be availed before filing an official FIR, in which you inform the police of a possible crime taking place, and the police can conduct a preliminary investigation to see if any offence is made out. The police can also take a preventive measure under CRPC, to prevent such an incident from happening again. There are various provisions under the Indian Penal Code under which the "caller" in question can be prosecuted, but it is better to proceed with a "Jaanva Jog" and try solving the problem without a formal prosecution first.

step one: inform to parents. step two: record all calls. step three: file police complaint where ever you are staying. you can also file police complain .
