Cyber harassment and blackmail

12-Sep-2026 (In Cyber Crime Law)
This is the second time I am facing harassment. Someone has sent defamatory and harassing texts to my mother, making claims about me, including references to multiple relationships. They have also sent her a video of me drinking with a guy to damage my reputation. It feels like blackmail and character assassination. I want to stop this harassment. Earlier, I filed a complaint online but withdrew it because I was scared my family might get involved. Now I want to take strong action to stop this once and for all. How do i ensure I am protected from confrontation or being badmouthed?

File a cyber complaint in a jurisdiction’s Police station. They are going to help you find the culprit. You can report calling Cyber cell file the complaint immediately. Sometimes they might use fake numbers and IDs and even if there are chances of staying out of country. Also, keep all the records and data.
