Layer 3 account freeze and amount on hold

27-Feb-2026 (In Cyber Crime Law)
Hi My bank account got freezed under layer 3. Due to 3 transaction with total amount of 1 lakh is kept on hold in my account. Out of this amount I've withdrawn around 40k from a gaming website last month. I've received 3 emails from the bank stating my bank account has been kept on temporary hold due to cyber crime report. On contacting the nearest cyber cell with the acknowledgement number they informed me that 2 transaction hold are from Pune cyber cell and one from Gujrat cyber cell.

Your account is frozen due to suspected cyber fraud trail. Contact Pune and Gujarat cyber cells with documents and transaction proof. File representation for de-freezing. If no relief, approach High Court by writ petition.

To unfreeze your bank account, you must coordinate with both the Pune and Gujarat cyber cells. Since you have the acknowledgement numbers, submit a written representation along with bank statements proving the source of your funds. If the cyber cells do not provide a NOC, you can file an application under Section 457 of the CrPC (or Section 503 of the BNSS) before the jurisdictional Magistrate to request the release of your account. Ensure you explain the gaming website withdrawals clearly to prove the transactions are legitimate.

If they inquire about the transaction, should I tell them it's from a gaming website withdrawal?
