Legal advice and assistance against my mother by my brother

My brother is harnessing my mother on property matters relating to will. She is living alone with him and he keeps hitting her. This is not the first time, he has almost beat her to death earlier and a case was registered but later my mother took back the case on compassionate grounds..but after sometime my brother started to go back to his ways of drinking and hitting. Now my mother is very fearful of him and she needs help. I live away from them out of india. Need advice what legal option we can take to get him out of the house.
